The Oregon Pacific Chapter of the American Red Cross is a sponsor of the USDA Child Care Food Program for registered Family or Group Home Day Care or DHS-listed Providers in Lane, Lincoln, Linn and Benton Counties. This is a federal program which reimburses Family Day Care providers for part of the cost of meals served to children in their care. The program will also reimburse for meals served to the providers' own children while other children are in care if the provider meets income guidelines. It is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture through the Oregon Department of Education
The goals of the program are to assure that well balanced, nutritious meals are served to children, and to help children learn to eat a variety of foods as part of a balanced diet. The Child Care Food Program has been sponsored by the American Red Cross in Lane County since 1984 and in Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties since 2006. Se habla espanol!
