Provide food, shelter, clothing and counseling to victims of home fires and other disasters through a 24-hour on-call emergency service.DAT responds to over 60 home fires a year, providing direct assistance to families in need.16-20 hours of training are provided for free by the Red Cross.Requires at least a one-year commitment.
Teach one
or more of the following: CPR, AED & First Aid for Adults, Children and
Infants; Babysitter's Training; Super Safety; Basic Aid Training; and various
chapter developed programs to the community. Qualified instructors have a background in
teaching and must go through an interview process.
FAST is a group of dedicated youth ages 14-18 that are trained in First Aid and CPR at a professional level by the American Red Cross.Together they administer First Aid during emergencies at over 50 community events per year.
FAST Adult Leader
Supervise and assist youth at community events.Must be able to work with youth and be trained in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer (training provided by the American Red Cross).
FAST Advanced Team Leader
Advanced Team leaders are the link between the Youth and Adults.They play a large role in organizing and helping with the actual event logistics.They also supervise and assist youth at community events.Must be able to work with youth and be trained in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer (training provided by the American Red Cross).
Serve as a driver or accompany a driver to deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound elderly.Deliver 10-26 meals to seniors on a standard route.Standard First Aid required and DMV check will be completed for drivers.
Kitchen Help
Help organize, serve and seal meals into individual proportions for delivery. Standard First Aid required.
Dishwasher Help
Assist with the clean up of dishes, kitchen and the recycling containers. Sandard First Aid required.
Phone coverage for the front office.Perform light clerical duties for the Red Cross offices as needed, which may include copying, collating, filing, mailing, typing, etc.
The Red Cross could not provide all
of our programs and services to our community if it did not have dedicated
volunteers. Our organization welcomes
